THE WORLD BUSINESS ORGANIZATION’S HISTORICAL
ROLE FOR REFORM IN PAKISTAN AND THE REGION
The International Chamber of Commerce Session of the Commission on Asia and Far Eastern Affairs (CAFEA) held at Karachi, Pakistan on December 5-9, 1960 was commemorated by the Pakistan Post Office.
The Pakistan National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1955 by the late M. A. Rangoonwala who became ICC’s President in 1981. Since the CAFEA Conference at Karachi, Pakistan in 1960 it was after a lapse of 42 years that a ICC Regional Conference was held again at Karachi, Pakistan on February 17-18, 2002 with the theme “An Emerging Crossroad of Trade and Investment” as a consequence of which ‘The Karachi Business Declaration’ for economic and business development was issued.
